In India if you travel domestic or go abroad, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) stamp boarding passes after frisking passengers. This stamp is seen before a flyer is allowed to get on a plane by the airline staff at the aircraft ladder or the aerobridge. If the stamp is absent or not properly registered on any boarding pass, the passenger is required to undergo the security check again. Travelers (Indian and foreigners) though have been expressing disapproval over this process. Earlier this year the home ministry has been hoping to persuade the CISF to adopt global practices that would eliminate the stamping process. Also a member of the Air Passengers Association of India stated that in this age of Web check-in, where boarding passes are planned to be sent on mobile phones of passengers then the stamping of boarding passes should be done away with.
If boarding passes are not stamped anywhere else in the world, why should they be at Indian airports? Why should a passenger be made to wait even for a minute? The threats in India are similar to those in the US or UK and if security passes are not stamped in those countries, the same should be the case in India.
Even the CISF stamping of baggage tages after bags are X-rayed and cleard to be taken on board the aircraft has proven to be a logistical nightmare at big airports such as Delhi's Terminal 3. They have had numerous instances of security personnel looking for CISF security check stamp on hand bag tags but either the tag is missing or the stamp is missing. In these cases the passenger has to run all the way back to security counters to get a stamped tag. This practice causes huge inconvenience and many airport developers have requested the aviation ministry to do away with it.

However, those possessing forwarded emails, SMSes sent by the airline or unreadable e-ticket copies will not be allowed to enter as the security personnel could not be sure about the authenticity of the traveler.
